A fan page, or fan account, is an account dedicated to a creator that makes it clear it isn’t her official one. For a clipper, it’s the most transparent way to post a campaign’s authorized material: you aren’t pretending to be anyone, and the people who follow you know what they’re watching.
Instagram’s rules don’t allow impersonating someone else, so a fan account has to say clearly that it is one: in the category, in the name and in the bio.
How to set it up step by step
1. Create the account with its own email address
Use an email address just for this account, separate from the ones on your personal accounts, and turn on two-factor authentication. Keep your backup codes somewhere safe.
2. Switch to a professional account and choose the category
- On your profile, tap the menu (☰) to open Settings and activity.
- Go to Account type and tools and tap Switch to professional account.
- Choose Creator.
- In the category search, type “Fan page” or “Fan club” (the exact name depends on your region).
- Turn on Display on profile so anyone who visits the account can see the category.
3. Choose the name and username
Make it obvious that it’s a fan account, for example with “fans” or “fanpage” next to the creator’s name. Don’t copy her official username with one letter changed: that confuses people, and it’s exactly what Instagram treats as impersonation.
4. Write the bio
Write it in the third person and say what the account is. For example: “Fan page for [creator’s name]. Content shared with her permission. Her links are below.”
5. Use a suitable profile photo
An authorized photo of the creator or a design with her name, with no nudity or sexual poses. It’s better if it isn’t the same one as on her official account, so nobody confuses the two.
6. Add the campaign link
Your link-in-bio page goes in the bio, with the OnlyFans link Tikful Studio gives you and the 18+ warning turned on. The guide to creating a link-in-bio page walks you through it.
What to post on a fan page
- Clips of the campaign’s authorized material, with your own editing: the moment you chose, subtitles and your own text.
- Variety: the occasional carousel or behind-the-scenes video, if the campaign includes them, and every so often a recap of the best moments.
- A pace you can sustain: at Tikful, we recommend no more than 2 or 3 Reels a day, with at least 3 or 4 hours between them.
There’s a sample schedule in the guide on how to grow a fan page.
A fan page follows the same rules as any other account
Saying you’re a fan account is the honest thing to do, but it isn’t a way around penalties. If you post repetitive content, use calls to action with sexual language or open several identical accounts to upload the same thing to all of them, Instagram can limit them just the same.
