What is video clipping?
Video clipping means picking moments from a piece of content and reworking them into short clips for social media. The source can be an interview, a livestream, a creator’s video or any other material you have permission to use.
In paid campaigns, a creator or an agency supplies the material and sets the terms. The clipper edits and posts the videos and earns a reward for the valid results they bring in.
Where Tikful fits in
On Tikful, campaigns are built around authorized content from OnlyFans creators. Depending on the campaign, your reward depends on the valid views or the new subscribers you bring in.
What does a clipper do, and who pays them?
A clipper picks, edits and distributes. The job is to spot a strong moment, shape it into the right format and post it for an audience that will care about it.
Pick a strong moment
Look for an idea that makes sense without watching the full video: a useful explanation, a reaction or a scene with enough context.
Adapt the content
Fit the framing, pacing and captions to the platform. Your edit follows the campaign’s guidelines and keeps the meaning of the original.
Post and review results
Post where the campaign allows it and see which formats work. Posting more videos is no substitute for quality or for the validation rules.
The reward comes from the creator’s or agency’s campaign, not from the creator funds of TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. That’s why every campaign sets its own rate, its own caps and which results count.
How to clip videos, step by step
It all starts with a clear idea and material you’re allowed to use. These four steps are the baseline; each campaign and each platform can add its own requirements.
- 01
Get authorized material
Work with your own content or with permission from whoever owns the rights. In a campaign, check the available material, allowed platforms, deadlines and terms.
- 02
Pick and edit the moment
Choose an idea that stands on its own. Fit the framing, pacing and captions to the vertical format without taking the original out of context.
- 03
Post with context
Add a title, a caption and whatever helps people follow the clip. Follow the platform’s rules and the campaign’s instructions on ad labels and links.
- 04
Review your results
Look at retention and audience response to make the next clip better. In a campaign, also check which results were validated and what balance they add up to.

This example shows the original video, the edited version and what it got on Instagram. Compare both versions to see what changed before it went live.
1 · Original material
Original video downloaded from Tikful
It was chosen because it had already performed well on the creator’s account. That track record was the reference for picking the material.
2 · Edited clip

The framing, length, color and brightness were adjusted. Side by side with the original, you can see every change made before posting.

These are the views and engagement for this post. On their own, they aren’t paid results and don’t tell you what the clipper earned.
See the clip on InstagramHow a clipping campaign works, step by step
Each campaign sets its own material, goals and payout. Here’s the path from joining one to getting your results validated.
Read the terms
Check what content you can use, the allowed platforms, the deadline, the rate and the caps. Decide whether it fits your account and the time you can put in.
Edit and post the clip
Work with the authorized material and adapt the video to the platform. Follow the campaign’s instructions on posting, ad labels and links.
Results get validated
The campaign checks which posts and results meet its rules. The public view count can differ from the valid views that get paid.
Check your balance
Review your approved results and available balance. Once you reach the minimum and meet your profile’s conditions, you can request a withdrawal.
How much can you make clipping?
There’s no fixed amount per video. What you earn depends on the rate, your valid results, the budget available and each campaign’s caps, and a post can also earn nothing at all.
Paid per view
If the campaign pays a rate per 1,000 valid views:
Valid views / 1,000 × rate
Paid per subscriber
If the campaign pays for each new valid subscriber, at the commission it sets:
Valid subscribers × commission
Illustrative example. Not a Tikful rate.
If a campaign paid $2 per 1,000 valid views, 50,000 valid views would come to $100. It’s a way to understand the math, not a forecast of what you’ll earn.
50,000 / 1,000 × $2 = $100
Illustrative example. Earnings depend on each campaign’s terms and on validated results.
- Before you run the numbers, check the per-video caps, the budget, any fees and the approval terms.
- Compare the full terms: a high rate is worth less if it asks for results your account can’t reach or if its caps are very low.
A real clipper on Tikful
Here’s how one participant worked on a Tikful campaign during the period reviewed: the posts she made, the validated results and the difference between the approved amount and the money she actually withdrew.

Laura Medina’s campaign (@lauramedinarb)
- Joined the campaign: April 13, 2026
- Campaign ended: October 21, 2026
I had always liked social media, and I enjoyed watching videos and discovering new creators. My experience was mostly as a viewer, with no advanced editing skills or professional background in this field.
During the campaign, my work was picking authorized videos, making basic edits and preparing posts following the campaign’s guidelines. I also reviewed how the clips performed to see which posts got the most interest and guide what I picked next.
- clips posted
- 387
- valid views
- 6,458,000
- approved for views
- $5,618.46
- withdrawn for views and goals
- $7,380
Breakdown of the amount withdrawn
- Payouts for views: $5,618.46
- Payouts for subscriptions and other campaign goals: $1,761.54
- Total withdrawn: $7,380.00
At a rate of $0.87 per 1,000 valid views, 6,458,000 views come to $5,618.46 for views alone.
The amount withdrawn is the money she actually received, and it can include rewards for views, subscriptions or other goals set by the creator, under the campaign’s terms.
One person’s results over one period don’t represent what other participants will earn. Posting clips doesn’t guarantee income.
What you need to get started
Start with an account and a routine you can keep up with. Before you sign up, check the requirements of the platform and of the campaign you pick.
Be 18 or older
Tikful is for adults only. Also check availability and the payout terms in your country.
An account on an allowed platform
The campaign says where you can post and what your profile has to meet. Check whether it asks for a certain audience or profile type.
Authorized content
Use the material the campaign allows. A video being authorized doesn’t automatically cover the music or other elements you add.
An editor and a payout method
A phone or a computer with a video editor is enough. Set up your withdrawal method before your balance builds up.
You don’t need professional experience. Picking good moments, adapting the format and reading your metrics are skills you build with practice.
Learn with the free academy (in Spanish)Post authorized content and avoid these mistakes
Having permission to use the content is the starting point. You also have to follow the campaign’s terms and the rules of the platform you post on.
Skipping the rules
Check the deadlines, allowed content, links and payout terms before you spend time on a post.
Mixing up views and earnings
The public counter alone doesn’t decide what you get paid. Check your valid metrics and the approval status in the campaign.
Copying without permission
Don’t post other creators’ content beyond what’s authorized, and don’t copy another clipper’s work. Label your accounts the way the campaign asks.
Inflating your results
No bought views, fake accounts or artificial engagement. Results that don’t meet the terms don’t get paid.
How clippers get paid and when you can cash out
Your available balance comes from results that have already been validated. Pending balance has to finish its review before you can withdraw it.
- Standard profileMinimum withdrawal for standard users.
- $100
- Academy studentsMinimum for active students who meet the conditions.
- $50
Withdrawals are paid in USDC, a digital dollar, to a wallet or an exchange and processed within 1 to 3 business days. Availability depends on the method and your country, and PayPal is in the works.
Before you request a payout, check the current terms, the supported networks and any fees.
Clipping FAQ
Can I do this without showing my face?
Yes. You work with the creator’s authorized material, so you don’t have to appear in the videos. What changes from one campaign to the next is the format it asks for and how your account has to be labeled, so read its guidelines before you post your first clip and check whether it needs anything visible on your profile.
Do I need followers or prior experience?
You don’t need professional experience to learn. Each campaign sets its own requirements for accounts, audience and posting, so check them before you join one. If you want to start with a plan, Tikful’s free academy teaches you how to pick strong moments, edit for each platform and read the metrics of your clips.
Is signing up for Tikful free?
Yes, signing up is free for anyone 18 or older. Before you join a campaign, check its terms and the requirements to earn and withdraw rewards. The minimum withdrawal is $100 for standard profiles and $50 for active students of the academy, which is also free to join.
Can I join from my country?
Check availability, the campaign’s terms and the withdrawal method for your country. The language of the video and the country of the audience can also affect whether a result counts. Since withdrawals are paid in USDC, a digital dollar, to a wallet or an exchange, you need one that works where you live before your balance builds up.
Does every video earn money?
No. A video only earns money if it follows the campaign’s rules and gets valid results. Each campaign sets its own rates, thresholds and caps, and a post can end up earning nothing. That’s why it pays to check which results get validated before you put more time into the same format or the same account.
Is clipping the same as video editing?
Not quite. Editing is only part of the job. In a campaign, the clipper also picks the material, posts it from their own accounts and tracks how each clip performs. An editor can get paid just for delivering a finished piece; a clipper gets paid for the valid results their posts bring in.
Is clipping legal?
Yes, when you post content you’re authorized to use. In paid clipping, the creator or agency gives you the material and permission to repost it under the campaign’s rules. Clipping someone else’s videos without permission can break copyright law and platform rules, and sponsored clips must be labeled as ads wherever the platform or your country requires it.
What is clip farming?
Clip farming is slang for posting large numbers of short clips, often cut from other people’s streams or videos, to grow accounts or earn from views. Paid clipping on Tikful is different: you only post authorized content from creators who set up a campaign, and you get paid for valid results under their terms.
