Introduction
Tikful (hereinafter, “we”, “our” or “the Application”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your information when you use Tikful (the “Service”).
1. Data Controller
Tikful
Pasaje La Candelaria, Local 1ºA, Rincón De La Victoria, Málaga (Spain).
Contact email: privacy@tikful.com
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you can contact our designated representative at: belen@tikful.com.
2. Data We Collect
To provide performance analytics, we collect information in two ways: directly from you and automatically through the Meta API.
2.1. Data You Provide Directly
- Registration Information: username, email address and password (encrypted) in our Application
- Support Communications: any information you voluntarily send us when you contact our support team.
- Usage data and cookies: log data, IP address, browser type, pages visited and cookies we use to work properly, provide analytics and remember your preferences.
2.2. Data Collected Through the Instagram API (Graph API)
When you connect your Instagram account (it must be a Business or Creator account), you explicitly authorize our Application to access the following types of data:
- Basic Profile Information: Instagram username, account ID (account_id), full name (name), bio and profile picture (public URL).
- Performance Metrics and Insights:
- Reach, impressions, number of likes (like_count) and number of comments (comments_count).
- Aggregated interaction metrics for the last 24 hours and historical data available in Instagram Insights.
- Post Content: post IDs (media_id), URLs of public thumbnails and images, caption text, timestamps and media type (image, video, carousel).
Important: Follower and End User Data
We do not access or store lists of the specific usernames that have interacted with your content (except for public comment IDs). All analytics data is processed in aggregated, statistical form.
3. Purposes of Processing
- Providing the Service: showing you dashboards with charts of the reach, growth and engagement of your posts.
- Meeting our contractual and legal obligations: to authenticate users, process payments and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Analytics and security: monitoring use of the platform to prevent fraud, ensure security and improve our services.
What We DON’T Do With Your Data:
- We do not sell, rent or share your Instagram analytics data with third parties for data brokerage purposes.
- We do not post automatically on your behalf or manage your Instagram direct message inbox
4. How Do We Share Your Information?
Your data is only shared in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: we work with hosting, analytics, support, payment processing and other providers to offer the platform. These providers act on our instructions and only use the data for the specified purposes. To comply with Meta’s terms, we require our providers to commit in writing to use the data only on our behalf and to respect our privacy policy.
- With Meta Platforms, Inc.: because of the nature of the API integration, authentication information passes through Meta’s servers. Meta’s use of your data is governed exclusively by Instagram’s Privacy Policy and Meta’s Platform Terms.
- Third parties authorized by the user: when you choose to share or promote content through external services (for example, social networks), data may be shared with those services according to your preferences and those third parties’ privacy policies.
- Legal requirements and security: we may disclose your information if required by law or a court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Tikful or other people.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the platform and improve your experience. Some cookies are necessary for the site to work; others are used for analytics and personalization. We may also allow third parties, such as advertising partners, to place cookies in your browser. You can adjust your cookie preferences through your browser settings.
6. Data Retention
We will keep Instagram analytics data for as long as your account in our Application remains active.
Active Connection: by default, we sync data for the last 90 days of activity (API limit).
Disconnection or Revocation of Permission: if you disconnect your Instagram account from our Application, or revoke access from Instagram’s Apps and Websites settings, we will delete or anonymize the analytics data specific to your Instagram account within 30 days at most.
Inactivity: we may archive or delete inactive accounts after 5 months without a successful connection to the API.
7. User Rights
If you are in the European Union or in other jurisdictions with equivalent data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure (right to be forgotten): request the deletion of your data when it is no longer needed or when you withdraw your consent.
- Restriction and objection: object to certain processing or request that the use of your data be restricted.
- Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller.
You can exercise these rights by emailing privacy@tikful.com. We will respond to your request within the legal deadlines.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, including:
- Encryption of data in transit via HTTPS (TLS 1.3).
- Secure storage of media files
- Regular audits of API access.
9. Minors
Tikful is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors; if we discover that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through a prominent notice in the Application or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the version in force.
11. International Transfers
Our servers may be located outside your country of residence. If we transfer your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we will make sure those transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or other appropriate mechanisms that guarantee a level of protection equivalent to that required by the GDPR.
