Tikful data deletion

In compliance with Meta’s Platform Policies and data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA), we offer users a clear process to delete the personal information associated with their Instagram integration.

Official integration with the Instagram Graph API

When you use Tikful and log in with Instagram, we may have stored:

  • Your Instagram user ID (a unique numeric identifier).
  • Your username and your profile’s public name.
  • Aggregated performance metrics for your posts (reach, interactions).
  • Access tokens (encrypted keys used to connect to the API).

We do not store your Instagram password or the private content of your messages.

Method 1: revoke access from Instagram

  1. Log in to your Instagram account from a web browser or the mobile app.
  2. Go to Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and websites.
  3. Find Tikful in the list of active apps.
  4. Click “Remove” (or “Remove access”).
  5. Confirm the action.

Once you revoke access from Instagram, our system will automatically delete all your associated data within 48 hours at most. You don’t need to do anything else.

Method 2: manual request by email

If you can’t access your Instagram account, or you’d rather we handle it directly, you can send a deletion request to our Data Protection Officer.

  1. Privacy email: privacy@tikful.com
  2. Please include in your email:
    • Subject: “Data Deletion Request – Tikful”
    • Your Instagram username (@username).
    • A short confirmation that you want your data deleted from our platform.

We will process your request within 30 calendar days at most and send you an email confirmation once it’s done.

What happens next?

Once your data has been deleted:

  • You will no longer be able to access previous analytics reports.
  • You can reconnect your Instagram account in the future if you want, which will create a new record.

Important note about backups: although active data is deleted immediately, it may remain in encrypted backups for up to 60 additional days for security and fraud prevention reasons, after which it will be permanently destroyed.
